In 2019 and 2020, songwriters and musicians Rocco Ostermann and Wout Kemkens embarked on a captivating quest, visiting prisons in search of remarkable stories and talented musicians. This odyssey resulted in an album and a podcast series. In 2022 they started hitting the road once again. This time showing their faces in refugee centres across the country together with a third team member: producer Rick Wiegerinck. 

De Niemanders defy creative limits, are pushing the boundaries of artistic expression by exploring new methods, styles and band compositions. We venture into diverse media forms, from newspapers to podcasts and even live music festivals.

September 2024 marked the release of the second album of De Niemanders, simply titled 'II'. Check it out on Spotify. A big De Niemanders band is now touring festivals and clubs to support the album. Check out the LIVE SHOWS page!

The albumcover depicts a gold flag made from a thermal blanket which is often shown at protests. To show solidarity with those in need and it is an ode to the strength of so many people that had to flee their country. The flag doesn't represent a country, but waves bold for everyone. The shining gold represents the quality of the ideas, talents and performances on the album. As a group we have an enormous amount of respect for the people we’ve met. Kind souls who fled from war, persecution and other tragedies; a lot of them still living in uncertainty and with trauma everyday. It was a real privilege to talk and collaborate so intensely. Thank you for your openness, enthusiasm and creativity. This record we made together lasts a lifetime and maybe even longer!
